Consider Becoming a Standardized Patient or Client
Standardized Patients/ Clients are individuals who can help provide
direct, hands-on patient care experiences for the students in the Health
Professions Colleges here at Michigan State University. They are people
from all walks of life who have a desire for a flexible work schedule,
and are comfortable, after sufficient training, to "act" out the role of
a patient or veterinary client. Standardized Patient / Clients are also
involved with giving responsive feedback to a student's performance
during assessment events, so having a good memory and observation skills
are a must. Some of the events do involve the students performing
physical exam assessments on our Standardized Patients. If you have a
preference to become a Standardized Client, you may be working with
small animals within the center. You will be compensated at an hourly
rate of pay that is dependent upon the type of event you are working.
So, If you enjoy working with groups of people who are committed to
making a difference in the education of our future health professionals
and want to learn more about our SP program, please e-mail us at
www.lac.msu.edu . Leave us your name, phone
number and a time that is good for us may reach you.
